Dr. A. Gaylene Genge C.C.F.P.
I grew up in northern rural Newfoundland and spent the first 18 years of my life on the ocean. I completed an undergraduate degree majoring in Biology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. I wanted to try out a new city and chose to move to Edmonton while completing my MD and family medicine residency at the University of Alberta.
The relationships that are forged over time is my favorite part of family medicine. I most enjoy delivering babies and watching them grow up while taking care of their families. Hospital medicine and palliative care is also a passion of mine as I feel taking care of patients at the worst times in their lives is important.
I am a mom of two young boys and have a wonderful husband. When I am not in the clinic, I can be found outside enjoying activities such as biking, hiking, running, boating and snowmobiling.
